Houston Zoo

 My sister, brother in law and 2 year old niece came in town this weekend. It was so fun to look at my city from the eyes of a family with a little baby girl. What museums had good kid exhibits? What are the hours at the zoo? We had a blast at the Houston Zoo. My niece, Evelynn, was specifically fond of the sea lions and elephants. Most of all, she loved the massive bag of popcorn she scored at the concession stand. She walked around hands tight on her popcorn for the rest of our time at the zoo. Later that night when we headed to dinner, she had to bring along her popcorn.

The Houston Zoo is amazing! They have large exhibits and several of so many of the animals. I have been to so many zoos where they had 1 or 2 of the larger animals like elephants and it was a little sad to see them without any friends. This Zoo had maybe 6 of the larger elephants, 4 or 5 giraffes. They had it all. It was a beautiful day outside and the animals were all out basking in the sun.

To top it off, the food was much better than it needed to be for “park food.” I was expecting a corn dog or chicken tenders to be the best option. Instead, they had a pretty good chicken sandwich. Success all around!
