Tom Collins

If you can’t tell, I really love gin. I like the botanical, herby taste and always prefer it to vodka. The Tom Collins is a classic, refreshing and light cocktail. I love how simple and tasty they are. They are absolutely perfect for a sunny afternoon. We lucked out and found some Maraschino Cherries and thought we would spruce up the original Tom Collins a little bit. Hope you enjoy!

Tom Collins (makes 1 cocktail)

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Gin (such as Ford’s)

  • Juice of a lemon halve

  • Spoonful of Maraschino syrup

  • Club Soda

  • Tom Collins glass (or “highball”) for serving

  • Orange wedge and Maraschino cherry for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Add gin, lemon juice and maraschino cherry syrup to the bottom of the glass. Stir vigorously so that the maraschino syrup breaks down and binds with the other liquid.

  2. Add ice to the glass and fill to the top rim. Next, top with club soda. Garnish with an orange wedge, cherry and straw. Enjoy!
