Quarantini

I rarely drink sugary cocktails. They just aren’t my thing. I prefer a dry glass of red wine, whiskey on the rocks, a dry gin martini or an old fashioned if I’m in the mood.

Since we have been in quarantine, I’ve been playing around with drink recipes. I’m actually in a home with my husband, parents, sister, brother in law, niece and nephew. My niece, Harper, has Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic lung disease that makes it progressively harder and harder to breath. She celebrated her fourth birthday a few weeks ago and I made her a special candy- filled cake. It’s been so nice to spend so much time with both her and my nephew, Hudson. It’s been so hard to be stuck here, but I’m appreciating this precious time with them that I wouldn’t be able to have if we were home in Houston. Anyways, Harper has been on my mind often as I help with her breathing treatments and try to get her to eat dinner so I thought I’d create a purple cocktail to honor of all the CFers out there and the CF Foundation

Well, it was really hard to find a good purple liqueur in the hill country so we are going with a blue cocktail! Ha! I hope you treat yourself with a little Quarantini!
