Gimlet

I have a thing for gimlets. They’re refreshing, limey and boozy. I find myself looking for them in the summertime and they’re so simple to make. Three ingredients: lime juice, simple syrup and gin.

I had my first gimlet from my favorite bartender at our favorite bar in Houston, Anvil Bar and Refuge. It struck me immediately as something I’d be ordering regularly going forward.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 oz simple syrup (recipe here)

  • 3/4 oz fresh lime juice

  • 2 oz gin

  • lime wheel for garnish

Directions:

  1. Fill a mixing pitcher with ice. Add the simple syrup, lime and gin. Use a cocktail spoon to mix for about 20 seconds. Strain into a coupe glass and garnish with a lime wheel.
